Hi all I'm after 2 new tyres but looking at something not too expensive. Size 225/40/18

I've come across a budget brand named Haida for £40 inc fitting locally. Rated E for fuel efficiency and C in wet-not much different from the Conti 3's I have.

Any other recommendations?

what size and speed rated tyres are you after?

I'm driving locally so high speed tyres not a must

How do you value wet grip and stopping distances?

Actually you say high speed tyres is not a must, but it is.....the tyres must be rated for the top speed of the vehicle.

Just bought a set of winter tyres from Tyreleader arrived 48 hours after ordered and at a great price

Actually they don't. The load rating is important though.

No, but your insurers may be rubbing their hands with glee in the event of a claim.

It comes up quite a bit and if you're using the car in the UK it doesn't matter.

Indeed MB suggest lower speed rating winter tyres.

Sichuan Haida Rubber Group Co. Ltd is a large scale tyre manufacturer located in Sichuan, China. It is the largest organisation for the research and development of commercial and passenger radial tyres in Sichuan.

They do indeed, usually one step lower than summer. However, there are insurers out there whose conditions of cover stipulate tyres fitted must meet the manufacturer's recommendations, so to them it would matter.

Whether or not you'd want to use them is an entirely different concept.

Could you indicate who any of those insurers are?
