That's a very interesting point. Grosjean has good history with Boulier having won gp2 title with dams.

Grojean owes his place at Lotus to the Renault connection and to Total. Now they've gone Mercedes and Petronas his seat can't be so safe. However, his sponsors have no place at McLaren, so I suspect there are more attractive fish to throw in the pan.

Here's one doing the rounds - Alonso and Briatori to buy Lotus with someone else's money. Mercedes engine, probably take Santander money with him (again). World domination awaits and they can switch to Honda 2016 if the engine is any good.

Not going to be Alonso now but the Flavio link is not inconceivable.

Lotus F1 is as good as bankrupt and being propped up this season by Bernie in the background until a proper buyer and medium/long funder can be found.
