Been told in garge it is the mechanism but they wanted over £200 to replace, how difficult is it to do myself? Dont like just leaving it in park

What's wrong with the mechanism? The pedal itself or under the rear seat?

As above...where is the problem.

There are three areas which could be at fault, the pedal area, under the back seat, or at the wheels.

None are particularly difficult. But if you know the problem, we can help.

Cool cheers,

How do I go about finding out where the problem is ?

WHat is the best way to diagnose the issue.

Thanks for the help. Just stumbled across this site and seems great, had my old merc for ten years and loved it but never had any problems what so ever, 120,000 miles and just brakes tyres and ohhh an alternator. Just hope this one is as good

Just found out its the spring in the pedal, unit.

The spring gouges the metal of the pedal assembly and causes it to stick. I had the same problem. My MB specialist changed the assembly but Olly has a method of adjusting the spring position I believe?

An new pedal assembly is £103 from MB and it is fairly easy to remove and replace.
