I have a c200 Komp 52 plate. The handbrake release i have to pull 5-10 times for it to work. is this normal at this age? 92k mileage.

is it an expensive repair?

Is it releasing the brakes at all or just not putting the light out?

Tony.

I expect the adjuster under the seat needs lubrication and adjustment.

is it something i can do myself?

If the same as a coupe, lift the rear seat & you'll see an oval plate secured with a small number of 8 or 10mm bolts, undo these & lift away the cover plate & then you'll see the adjuster in all its glory lubricate & adjust, simple job mate:thumb:

Depending on model the seat base may be secured with 4 bolts. Suggest a spray grease sparingly applied, WD40 is really not much use, it has poor adhesion.
