Handbrake Release

Hi,

The parking brake on my car works fine but the level on the dash doesn't go back in all the way like it has a spring missing.

can you buy the spring as a spare and does anyone have tips for sorting it out

There is no spring attached to the release handle as such, it is just pulled back by the cable. You may have some stretch in the cable that runs to the foot pedal or a fault with that. I don't know if there is any adjustment at the pedal end.

Had the same problem on mine, there is a small spring on the foot pedal assembly where the release cable attaches. I removed the pedal assy but couldn't see any obvious faults, in the end replaced whole pedal assy with a good s/h one, works fine now.
Does the parking brake stay on when pressed? and release okay without having to lift the pedal up a bit?
It may be that the adjuster under the rear seat need lubricating/adjusting
