Hands free phone useable.

I used to be able to use phone hands free when multimedia was switched off.
Now it needs to be on before I can use hands free phone.
Message in on board computer says “phone off”
Have I switched something off by mistake?

Are you sure you didn't just mute audio previously (for multimedia) instead of turning the system off? Muting the radio etc. does not mute the phone, hands free still works and you can hear the other party even if radio was muted.

Made hands free call. 5 mins later call returned (3 attempts) but when I clicked the raised phone switch nothing happened each time.
Was driving to golf course so did not switch on or of anything between making call and the failed calls.

Does multimedia need to be on (even with display off) to use hands free phone?
