Who you may ask is Hans Rosling? Well he was a Swedish doctor and statistician who made it his life's work to make statistics more accessible to the ordinary man. A way of making visual sense of "the big picture" to get it into some sort of perspective.

a fascinating example of his work on life expectancy v income per person round the world is here to play with -sounds pretty dry stuff but with his GAPMINDER interactive visual representation its quite entertaining as well as educational. You can see the rise of India and China as economic superpowers, the effect of HIV aids, Countries with oil, the immense wealth of the USA its all there if you care to look.

QUOTE:-

Dr. Rosling echoed former Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s maxim that everyone is entitled to his own opinions but not to his own facts even before “post-truth politics ” entered the lexicon.
A concept Donald Trump seems unaware of.

This dynamic graphic is fascinating. It shows that increase in earning power (and linked costs like house prices) as it impacts us, is such a modern phenomenon. China and India were at a static 1k units of GDP/person between 1800-1975! Then that doubled over the next 20 years to 2k in 1995.

Used to love watching his presentations and hearing him speak.
