gentlemen, i posted a message a while ago, havine been told the heater matrix needed replacing as there was water in the compartment that housed the blower motor, i was quoted several hundred pounds to remove the dash and fix the problem by a couple of specialist garages.

however after asking a friend of a friend who works for merc, these units apparantly very rarely fail, so i took the air intake cover off on top of the bonnet, once removed i found that the phleum had simply become bloked and rain water was over filling into the air intake, so i've dug out the muck and leaves.

but now i need a new blower motor and resistor block, which i've dug around for well over a couple of weeks and still cannot find the units for sale second hand,

please help as it's getting cold, it's climate controlled.

What car do you have as I have the items you are looking for from both a 124 and a 126.

1998/s clk230, blower motor and resistor block for climate control, many thanks

What is the resistor block?

If you are desperate the blower motor is under £200 from the stealership and the speed controller (or whatever it is) attached to it isn't that expensive. I can get you the part numbers if required.

cheers shude,

not sure was the merc name for it is but that's what it is, i'd been in touch with all the previously mentioned companies but no one seems to be able to supply a motor for the climate controlled version.

how much for both units inc vat.

not too much i hope as i'm sorted for chipping my car, and rolling road tune, but need some extra cash to buy a crank pulley, as the prices on them seems to vary alot, have you heard of modifyingthe existing crank pulley by increasing it's diameter by some means, this one is cheaper than a new pulley.

i've been assured that the lad is very good who tunes the car, garantees rapid performance. he'd asked if i'd any problems with the exhaust manifold cracking, do you know if this is a problem when upping the performance, if so any advise.

cheers.
