A thrifty Yorkshireman?! 😂

Yorkshire man whose beloved pet whippet had sadly passed away asks a goldsmith to make a statue of it.
Goldsmith asks “Eighteen carrat?”

“Nay yer daft lad, chewin a bone”....

I'm a "foreigner" living in Yorkshire and it took me a while for my ear to get tuned in to the accent and sayings. Been her e3 years now and still struggle with some people.

Invention of copper wire......

Yorkshireman and a Scot find a penny at the same time. Both pull so hard on it, it stretches into wire.....(actually I've adapted that from a saying in The Netherlands about their "frugality). Not sure who is tighter , Yorkshire, Scotland or The Netherlands.

My dad was an incredibly mean man (Irish) and I find it difficult to relate to mean / frugal people.
