Have I got to return a lease car with new tyres??

Obviously the tyres would have to to be road/MOT legal and best with a decent element of tread left to simply not draw attention to their condition. Provided they meet the same speed and load rating as the originals I doubt being MO rated will matter unless specifically mentioned in the contract. If the dealer comes the "old soldier " about it a quick perusal of the tyres on their current MB approved used stock on the forecourt might strengthen your position? A decently shod car should be fine. A car on cheap Chinese Ying tong diddle I po ditchfinders down to their last couple of mm will inevitably draw attention?

On a business lease iirc it stipulates Mercedes original part or something like that. I got 2 part worn mo continentals very cheaply fitted. Hey presto. Guaranteed no comeback for the price of new Chinese ping pongs or whatever they are called.

Where can I get a set of Chinese Ying tong diddle I po ditchfinders for my wife's pug? :dk:

"Ying tong diddle I po" ditchfinders are a generic name that covers a wide range of tyres. To fulfil the criteria for membership of said group the tyres would
1. Have to be made in China
2. Have brand name no-one has heard of before
3. Unfeasibly cheap

;)

4. And grip like liquorice

You really want to put lethal tyres on your wifes car ?

Hi all,
We will not be taking out a new car with them so I'd assume they'll want to be as strict as they can get away with.
BCA is picking up cars and they have no idea whether you get new car or not. They will just check it and then take it to MB depot for further checks.

Damage up to £200 is written off.

My understanding is that I have to take the car back to the supplying dealer which is a 2 hour drive, each way.
Is there an option for them to come and collect then? How do I get that?

When my Lexus was collected by BCA, the driver/inspector used the word "spotless" on her report, and commented that any damage would then be down to her.

But when it went on their auction site, although they classed it as grade one, they did list four marks, two of which, tbh, I knew about.

As I'd been given a 'no charge for damage' receipt, I didn't really care..........

Never heard of that option. Did you get any letter from MB Finance? They should arrange pickup date. Or just call them and ask about it.

Car is due back in September. The supplying dealer will probably call me a couple of months earlier so as to try and negotiate a new replacement. At this point they don't know I wont be renewing with them.
So I'm pretty sure I'll have to drive it back to them so as to close off the finance deal but will certainly ask about whether they'll come and collect.

Are cars on PCP (not lease / PCH) normally collected? I didn't think they were.

Inspection then collection of lease cars is standard practice

My car with MB Finance (Agility contract) was collected by BCA.

You must have your contract with someone else? If it's an Agility contract it'll be collected.

Dealer is only selling the car but it's owned by MB Finance. Call MB Finance and ask how the process of returning the car looks. My PCP and PCH cars were collected.
