Unfortunately, many companies still haven't caught up with the fact that they cannot treat consumers in different global markets in significantly different ways without it becoming public and blowing up in their faces.

Feel sorry for Porsche? Mostly no.

This situation is entirely of their own doing. The real anger is not down to the engine problem or the subsequent delay/return of vehicles - this most people can at least understand.

It's the PR clusterf*ck they've initiated with double standards and mixed level of support, as if their customers aren't going to notice...another Apple "you're holding it wrong" moment.

The only aspect in which they deserve some sympathy is in regard to the crap they're getting from the action group, but only in respect to their whinging about the situation with cars that have not left the factory "not being fair". Delivery dates can slip for any number of reasons, why should this be handled differently?

^ Well put - both regarding Porsche and the chancers who are whining that they should get compo for their car having not been allocated a build slot yet.

    Oh dear; poor babies.

To answer the thread question, not very often; I'm usually quite gruntled with MY Mercedes, at least...

    No surprise there.

VW did the same thing with their DSG boxes when problems became common (extended the warranty to 5 years in the US, did nothing for UK customers).

Had fall out's with Mercedes in the past - last one was over a warranty claim turned down for corroded wheels that had been curbed - although the corrosion was well away from the curbing.

We came to a sensible compromise after a letter to the Directors comparing their actions to a two bit shyster second-hand car dealer. I contributed 25% from memory.

I think that is a bit harsh.

These guys are in a car that is loosing around £25,000 in the first year, to have it taken away from you for what could be 6 months or more with no financial contribution and no replacement car mean you have to also hire a car as well, and they are not extending the poxy 2 year warranty, is deserving of a whinge imho.
