Carlton was the one I forgot.
Absolutely Cavalier was Sierra challenger and was kind of new to the UK as previously there was Viva and Victor so slotted between them as Viva became Chevette and Escort competitor. Nova would arrive into the Fiesta, Metro, etc sector.

I thought the Cavalier was their Cortina challenger.

My dads first Cavalier was registered OPP 941P which he got in 1976, 11 years before the Sierra was released.

Late 80's Sierra Cosworth. Could be worth a lot of money but could just be a pile of plastic and filler stuck onto a very ordinary Sierra.

You're probably used to seeing them look more like this:

The RS 500’s did though. Cos I had one.

It could be a motorsport shell though but I doubt it.

I was thinking it was the wrong colour for an RS500 (and wrong wheels?) but of course people might respray them a different colour. More likely it’s a non-RS500 that’s had the extra spoiler added.

I don’t even think it’s a Cosworth. The lack of sunroof is the big clue.

I reckon it’s a boggoe 3 door with some goodies (or baddies) added.

+1 on that, some ive seen have them wheels (y i don't know) the exhaust is correct but that's about it, 1.6l imo attempting to confuse the daft badly

The RWD Cav competed with the Cortina.

The FWD one competed with the Sierra.

I bumped into my mate in his 308 GT4 yesterday. Not this one but same colour. His is an ex-Chris Rea car. Rea had the engine uprated to 300 bhp. My mate has subsequently given it a full respray & general rebuild. Stunning thing.

I’ve always liked the Mondial.
The convertible in that lovely blue is a stunning piece of kit.
