Renault 4CV (1947) in Woodstock yesterday, immaculate inside and out , looked really cool.

Back in the day, French kids tuned the ass off these (sort of). I remember them flying around small towns with baffles removed and rear lid propped open for cooling (supposedly). They could go even faster when the headlights were taped over.

I don't think that this is the real deal. It's a 1982 model which makes it a very late one and on-line checks reveal it has a 3500cc engine which is probably a Rover unit. But it's listed as a TR7 suggesting that this is a conversion not a rarity:

That's a TR8, they came from the factory with the rover V8 fitted. There's one for sale local to me, looks in very good condition but just shy of £9k

But on-line checks describe it as a TR7 although their information may not be accurate. But if it is, then the V8 must have been fitted later.

For some reason Scott I seem to remember that it was described on the V5 as a TR7 even when it was a TR8 on the car. My memory isn't what it used to be though.......

I'm not sure if this is a parts car or the next project:

Hi,
Saw this interesting “G wagon” today!
Look closely at the badges to reveal what it really is!

I must say - it was an immaculate conversion

Mercedes G Wagon trundling along on a trailer.

It's a real one but seems to be minus a few things:

Elan +2  I always associate them with the big valve engine but maybe not in the first ones? Never available in kit form like the original Elan. :(
