Oooh.
Looks like a long, long road with many a winding turn.
I wonder where it leads.

Luckily not the police station given the towed weight. Hope you had just one look before you pulled away?

Will the jokers on here please stop, stop, stop!!

Did you also have to carrie Ann home?

Hope he hadn't parked in a bus stop.

OK, I'll get my coat!!

Diff broke ?

or was it the driveshaft, which is more common problem ?

What's on the rear O/S flank of the the silver one? Rust?

The dirty mark is comedy fuel :)

The car can be put into drive and then u can look underneath - prop is turning right through rubber prop coupling and still turning into the main diff casing. A bit of a cluttering sound and no turning of either driveshaft.

I'm assuming a new diff will sort it?

As for towing, the trailer doesn't weigh much. Yes it's over 100% due to weight of trailer which is light - What's the gross train weight of a w124 estate?

The tow weight is about 1500kg, iirc.

I think you are well over...and have now posted evidence on 'tinternet...

2100kg

Ha ha! I remember some idiot geeky engineery type on here coining that phrase a few years back, warning of the mechanical dangers & short life expectancy of cars running so called comedy fuel.

Comedy fuel users are having nearly a hundred quids worth of laughs every time they fill up.

Indeed they are! I fill two 124s every week

Back to original towing stuff - how was this illegal?
