Hi All,

I am new here,

Hopefully someone might be able to help I have a 2014 E250 Coupe (W212?) with the standard head lights fitted, is it possible to retro fit the Mercedes full LED Head lights of the same year? And if so would it be better t find a good set of used ones or would it be better to buy new ones? Also would there be some kind of programming to fit them?

I am not to sure so want to check to see what the best way is to do this as I only want to do this once.

Cheers
Richard

New will not be cheap, not cheap at all
There will definitely be some coding required, you will need to find a Mercedes specialist/independent to do it as a dealership will not touch it.
Your insurers will need to be advised, probably best to check with them before undertaking the modification

Thank you, I have a specialist not too far away from me that I use for servicing etc will, check with them to see if they are willing to do the coding. I wouldn't have thought it would be re-portable to the insurance company as it would be an OEM part being fitted, but will check just in case!

Hi , I have a similar car to yours and the Intelligent lighting is excellent it does comes at a price.

As others have said it will be expensive and most probably technically possible I bet it could be cheaper to purchase a car with the Intelligent lighting installed.

Silly question but do you drive regularly at night to benefit from the upgrade.

On my car the driving lights increase in range the faster you drive ( up to a max 75mph ) , on dipped lights they turn with the steering ( similar to old Citroen's )

Internally the lighting switches may have to be changed as mine car has an auto position and the head light stalk needs to be in the forward position.

You could be in for a new wind screen because of sensors and no doubt the list goes on.

Sorry to be so negative !
