Have a problem with my kenwood head unit fitted to my w210 e320 cdi . What happens is when you turn it up loud-ish and with a track with a lot of bass ,the unit starts to go quieter like its cutting out . Any suggestions why it is doing this . If you turn it down to say no 23 on the volume its fine.
The head unit also seems to get hot beacuse after a long drive and you remove the front if you touch the metal connecter on back of head unit front it will burn your hands .Its only powering the standard speakers and not knowing a lot about I.C.E. :o your help would be greatly recieved .

Thanks

I had this problem yeeeears ago on my first car (I wont say what it was!) but it turned out that the stereo was too powerful for the speakers. Rather then blow the speakers it does this cutting out thing, so if you know anyone with a spare set of speakers it'll worth linking them up to see, try it before spending out on new ones anyway!

Thanks guys ive got some more speakers so will experiment with them . I guess the standard mercedes speakers must be a bit rubbish then :( Glad it isnt a faulty head unit
