Hi Guys and gurls, With engines and things mechanical i dont have much of a problem but when it comes down to electrics, well, I have to admit that I am rather lost. I have a W124 and my front left hand headlight wiper doesnt seem to be working. The right one is fine. It pumps fluid onto the lense but there is no action from the blade. Now for the questions. I can remove it but what should I be looking for as a start point for a diagnosis? Do I have to remove the Headlight unit? What would be the cost of a new one? (if needed)

I have checked the fuses and they are all ok, wiring looks ok too to my untrained eye. Any assistance here would be appreciated

Cheers
Ian

If the fuses look okay then you may need to take out the motor for the blade and check that. I think you'll find it has probably failed, it's fairly common, my 190E had the driver's side headlight wiper fail. You're looking at approx £150 for an OEM replacement motor from the stealer.
