I have the ILS and just noticed today that the headlights and main beam are on full time during daylight hours. If I switch the lights to off auto they go off but that seems to defeat the object. I’ve just given the car a good wash in case the sensors were dirty but the problem is still there. The DRLs are working fine it just the main headlights and beam.
Any thoughts before I contact MB

I had the same on my old BMW.

Apparently the sensor picks up the brightness as well and will put the lights on in some circumstances.

Does it happen all the time?

Have you set the main beams on accidentally? Even if the sensor is faulty it would only switch the dipped beams on. If you haven't could point to front SAM problem.
Do you notice if the interior lights come on in daylight when you open a door? If yes, points to sensor failure, if no could be a problem with the front SAM
Really need STAR diagnosis if problem persists.

The headlights and main beam are on all the time day or night. Also the interior lights come on in daylight so it looks like a sensor or SAM fault.
I’ll get it booked in to MB on Monday as it’ll be covered under warranty
