I've just swapped out the cassette Audio10 in my 2000 E Class (W210) for a CD version. It's the MF2199 not the MF2190 - I understand the only difference is the removable button plate on the left.
Yay, I can now play CDs in the car!
However......
...the first thing I noticed was that the steering wheel buttons weren't working with it, then that it didn't shut down when I turned the ignition off (no big deal I can cope with that), just been out again & realised that it doesn't illuminate when my headlights or sidelights are on.
What seemed to be a 30 second swap-over job now looks like a headache.
Any ideas anyone? Have I bought an Audio 10 from an older vehicle that's incompatible with steering wheel controls & my model?
Cheers all,
Ian.
