Heated passenger mirror

Hi all could anyone tell me if the wires on a heated mirror can go to any terminal as mine are both black I've tested the wires and there seems to be a live and earth but nothing showing on the mirror terminals it self as live or earth very confused.thanks

The heater is not polarity sensitive.

And usually if you have two same colored wires, other has round insulation over it, other squared.
