Heated windscreen option?

No MBs have electrically heated windscreens AFAIK.

Early R230 up to 2004 had the option for a heated front windscreen but only in the wiper parked area.
One could also get a fully heated windscreen on the W211 or W220 but only with SA code 979 "Special Protection Vehicle"
On the 211 both the windscreen and front side windows are heated. The 220 only got the front screen. Power consumption is 42A for the screen and 10.5A each the side windows. The windows are heated when the defrost button is pressed and the engine running. Time on is dependent on engine speed, from 6min at standstill to 11min at 100kph.

I can't find any info regarding current models though

I think it's more common now to have an electric heater in the HVAC system, so you get hot air blowing on the screen soon after startup. I know our Vito has this as it's manually switched ... I think climate control systems do it automatically.

Not common enough to make it into my 2013 C-Class..... :(

I had a 2015 Jaguar XE with heated front screen (wire mesh in screen, Ford do something similar). I only have moderate eyesight problems that require glasses but that mesh drove me mad. Still can't understand why it's acceptable to put wire grill in front of your all important vision. Sold the car after a year. Much prefer my C-Class which clears the screen in no time all.

Audi used to make the bootlids out of composite/plastic on cabriolets so they could fit radio antennas in there.

Used to always look a bit naff to me when newish cars had stubby antennas sitting on the rear wings etc.

Have to agree with some of the others, modern cars with additional heaters and air con clear and demist screens in a minute or two, tops. You still have to scrape the side windows - usually by the time you click your heated seats and rear windows on, clear the side windows and buckle up it’s all clear anyway :thumb:
