Hi & welcome to the forum, best to take it to agood indi & have it checked on star diagnostics first to make sure exactly what the problem is other wise you could waste money changing part(s)that are not at fault, good luck:thumb:

The problem is likely to be the ballast / resistor pack attached to the motor housing. Had a few of those recently.

Yes Olly, the motor brushes are prone to failure. Disconnect the motor from the pack and run 12 volts though it. If the motor runs and spins freely then its the pack. If not then its the motor.

I replaced the Blower motor brushes on my W208 Cabrio last week. Took me about 30 minutes. Bought the parts from e-bay for £7.99 inc postage. Works like a charm now.

Initially, I was getting no airflow, although I could feel the warmth from the heater when I was driving, but that was just the natural flow of air through the car forcing the warm out of the vents. Took the blower motor out, found that the brushes had worn right down. Replaced. All good now.

See attached pic. Old on the right, new on the left
