Hi all and thanks in advance for any information recieved, my 1997 CLK 230 Kompressor sport has a part of the heater control mechanism broken and i am looking to purchase a new part, however not knowing the proper part name i can only describe it as follows, when the heater control panel from the dash is removed there is 2x stalks that operate the heater black in colour and on a universal swivel the one on the right has broken off from inside the housing in the dash and therefore either a new stalk or whatever it takes is required. I also need both boot lid hinge springs. Hope someone can help with this thank you.

Thanks for the welcome to both WOODYTHEWISE and Traperjohn, and although they could not help, i wonder if someone could tell me if the heater controls in their entirety within my car are the same as possibly a C180 or C200 model etc of similar age to mine therefore allowing me to find second hand parts much more easily

Try ebaythere are loads of CLK parts for sale and it would be best to replace the whole control unit, as for bootlid springs again there are loads, are yours broken ?

Hi,
I would surprised if the boot springs are broken, its more like the spring anchor points have corroded and snapped off, you can either get them welded back on of you can fond the snapped bit, alternatively you could fabricate another anchor point. There is also repair kit on US e-bay that enables you to repair the anchor points without welding though how good/bad they are I don,t know.
