My heater takes about 10 minutes to heat up.

Surely that's too long?

Any ideas as to the likely fault?

Should it heat up more quickly with aircon switched off?

Thanks in advance

You might have a problem with your engine thermostat? Does the engine take along time to warm up also? Failing that you might have a problem with the duo valve failing to open altho they normally fail in the "on" position in the event of complete failure.

The engine heats up normally I think... ie in a few minutes the water temp. is up to 60+ on the gauge.

The heater eventually does work very well but it takes at least 10 minutes to do so...

Does that help?

Tks

I'm not sure if THE W126 has a small recirculating pump in the heater circuit like the W124 but this might have failed /fused and might explain the slow warm up?

booked in for check at local spanner.....seems to warm up faster with aircon off.....is that normal?

Have discovered it warms up much quicker with aircon turned off.
