I'll buy a beer to who solves this:

My power steering only works perfectly when engine is cold ☹
After running temperature 80° ,it gets really stiff/heavy specially when car is stationary on idle, sometimes is impossible to turn the wheel..unless i rev up a little.
Exsmple:
On cold steering is light as a feather.
After driving for ten min and engine reaches 80 degrees or so temp, steering goes very heavy specially when i :
-idle the engine,
-put foot on brake pedal
-then i try to turn wheel but its very stiff and won't turn.
All this goes away if i rev up a bit..
Any ideas?
-No error messages.
-Fluid is nice and clean.
I've been to 2 garages they both said could be several different things: rack, pump, belt and puleys, hoses and they might get it wrong. 20% chance of getting it right wherever it is its gonna cost me 100's to replace and may be the wrong diagnostic

Forgot to say, car is a 2010 Mercedes cls w219 CDI

It's a pump issue and needs replacing.
For whatever reason the merc steering system works when you rev the engine. Had the same problem with the s500.
