I'm looking for the reflector panel that fits on the bootlid, between the taillamps on a 124 saloon. My uncle had one of these on his 200D in Germany when I was a wee boy,and I'd like to find one for mine,it was the orange and red one.I have seen similar ones that are all red,but I'm after the proper Merc accessory type one.

Anyone?

They were never Merc accessories however I have one sitting about somewhere if you want one. Are you trying to cover rust or something?

TBH, if you want to tidy up the rear end you should be thinking about getting the OEM filler panel of a facelift W124CE. The price for the panel and bits and pieces is just under £100 and then you'll require paint.

See items 137 & 134 and some clips 140 & 143 below.

Its kinda a sentimental thing,my uncle bought a 200D brand new in 86,he had just picked it up from the dealers, and came to collect us from the airport in Bremen. He had a Hella reflector on it,was fitted when the car was new-possibly dealer fit.I thought it was very cool! (it was the '80's)It was the first Merc I had ever been in.He was a very german German.Very meticulous and precise. Before the 124 he had a Mk1 Granada, and it was better than new ,even though it was 12 years old.His garage was like an operating theatre, and remember rows of polish, oil and stuff in regimental rows on the shelves. He died a few years back, and passed the car on to his daughter, who couldn't care less about it.It's still running, but is the tattiest W124 I've ever seen.Last time I was over,I sneaked out and polished it....sad or what?
