Just thought I would post up in here to introduce myself after picking up our second Mercedes this weekend to go with my wife’s SLK.
The new car is Adam’s (dougal74) C124 E320, a credit to him and a lovely drive. I’ve always loved the style of the 124 series and after a couple of months of looking came across the car here and knew I had to have it.
Driving back this weekend was fantastic, despite the less than ideal weather, wafting along at 70 was brilliant, especially coming from my car, a modified Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo, (I’ve had two over the last five years and have been pretty involved with the club and excellent forum) which whilst quicker and better handling, was rather loud and uncompromising over anything other than super smooth roads.
The lovely old Fiat is hopefully going to its new owner today and though I’ll be sad to see it go, I know I made the right choice – just hope the Merc fits in the garage!
I’ll definitely be hanging around here and look forward to perhaps getting along to a meet or two in future,
