Considering some of the cars you see at £7 to £8K with 300,000kms on them I think the listed car isn't excessively priced but at that price it needs to be absolutely bang on, no niggles plus a decent warranty.
The 500 makes sense if it's a long-termer and you want a relaxed drive. The E39 is much more driver-focussed and considerably quicker. Most depreciation has been done by now but VANOS issues make buyers wary. Drive both and decide.
Really appreciate the comments guys, thanks. I think that 10k is a good price provided all of the niggles are sorted due to the fantastic nature of the bodywork etc.
As for mods, I think that some Brembo stoppers and K&N air filters to begin with then possibly a H&S custom exhaust to liberate a bit more of that sublime V8
Well fellas, thanks for all of the advice. Pick the car up Friday all being well and will post up on here once I have taken her out for a good long drive and a bit of a clean.

Well done mate, enjoy .As for mods all a 500e needs is a set of nice alloys a little drop and an exhaust
If you decide to lower the car i`ve got some H&Rs for 500e and as for the exhaust,i know someone that has a Remus for 500e.
