Thanks for the welcome. At 48 I hope I've legs on the 2003 vintage merc but it's sitting at 164k and, according to my local specialist who serviced it on Tuesday in very good shape (unlike my good self). The previous owner had it for a shade under 11 years and traded it in for a AMG SLK 55. Might do something similar when I retire...

2003 is in the rusty era of Mercedes quality, you may be lucky but keep an eye on all the edges and be prepared to either live with rust or treat it as you go if you plan to keeping the car long term.
