hello everyone

am sorry should have introduced myself, im ovais just bought a 2000 cl500 in very good nick got a problem with the electrics in the drvers door was working perferctly but yesterday nothing working in the door not rear view mirrors windows or the power seat. have checked the fuses they are all intact dont know what to do is stressing me out help please, thanks:thumb:

You have some broken wires in the door hinge. I have repaired a few for this issue.

there is a thick red wire that feeds the main door control unit.. you will need to take off the door trim and the floow carpet... disconnect the battery and then cut the wire at the door end and do the same under the carpet.. then feed a new length of wire through the to door and solder and insulate at each end....

Use the correct thick wire..

cheers for that mate tried to take the trim off it popped easily at the bottom but would not budge on the top bit are there any screws anywhere dont wanna use brute strength and beak anything. also does anyone know a mechanic that can do this for me in essex im in chelmsford. not going to main dealer dont wanna get ripped off.

If its like older Mercs the top of the door card "sort of "hooks over the top of the door. So once you have released any clips, trim and released any door handle mechanisms lower down it should just lift upwards.- warning --don't know if this applies to your particular car or not?

I've got the same problem I think. All stuff on Driver door occaisionally stops working.

Mine is a CL500 2005.

Does this happen in all CL years?

certainly happens on 2004 models - door mirror indicators stop working etc.

I got the door fixed today by Hamiltons in Dublin (off SCR). They replaced the whole harness running through the door hinge really professional job for <€200.
