I'm Vince, a mature student studying computer science and am currently in my year in industry with Kent University.
I am the very proud owner of a metallic purple Auto C200K (04 with 134k miles) full service history (every stamp since 05 from Mercedes of Taunton).
I'm sure when I get the big bills on repairs ill be kicking myself, but right at this moment I'm as happy as a pig in dodo. Such a smooth drive, and it seems to be a real head turner (waves from girlies).
In the 6 weeks I have had the car I have had one problem, which Formula 1 identified as lower arm bushes at fault, they quoted £308 to replace both arms.
I had already done a lot of looking online for common faults, the symptoms were:
Rubbing noise when turning right
No noise on a left turn
Little noise on a straight

Yes it was the clip, and yes I am mad with Formula 1 as I told them about this "common fault", but would not take off the heat shield saying it will break the bolts and or the heat shield.
Mad as hell that they wanted £300+ to not fix the job....
The blue clips, incidentally were £1.75 from Mercedes of Canterbury.
For anyone slightly interested, the bolts wont shear off when you undo them, they seem to be a nicely designed cover, screw cap (to prevent the thread from rusting).
Anyway my rant over for now... until the next issue
