Hello All

After many many years owning BMW of various descriptions (330ci, 530D Sport, few Z's) I have always had my eye on the CLS 320D. A year ago I bought a 2007 model with full Mercedes Service History and it has been a joy to own and drive.

However, lately I have been getting an occasional judder (quite violent dependent on the speed I am carrying) when accelerating (can be at 10MPH or 50MPH), if I ease off the throttle and reapply it goes away and is fine. No warning lights come on, the engine does NOT go into safe/limp mode and this happens maybe once every two weeks.

Had a diagnostic done (fearing it may be the turbo/actuator) and the code reads as follows:

"2616 Check component b60 (exhaust back pressure sensor). Control variation the back pressure is too LOW"

Had it been the turbo I assume a few other error codes would also be thrown up and reading other forum threads the back pressure would be too high.

Has anyone else experienced this and what would you recommend? Is this a simple sensor replacement that has become dirty/defective. Interestingly is seems to do this more often after a long drive and the car sat for an hour or so and then I head off. It only ever does it once and when I release and reapply the throttle it appears to disappear completely for the rest of that journey. It has happened perhaps 6 times.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Alan
