HELP! - AMG GLE 53 Exhaust Switch

Hi there,

I have a GLE AMG 53 that’s 3 years old. For the last couple of weeks whenever I switch on the exhaust instead of the exhaust sound, there is just a loud humming from the engine which is constant whilst the engine is running. It seems to go away by itself after a day or so but it’s incredible annoying and frustrated and ultimately renders the exhaust switch unusable.

There is no EML or any other warnings and performance is not effected, please help!

"Switch on the exhaust" - what kind of madness is this?!

Please excuse my ignorance - I've only ever owned cars where the exhaust doesn't need to be switched on

Possibly the exhaust valve has stuck and not opening.
Needs an inspection of the valve.

I am assuming it's not that awful gimmick of piping a false exhaust note through the speakers.

I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and take it to the main dealer for an inspection.
I assume its out of warranty?

Yes it is its just turned 3 years old.
