Help before I go insane !

My wifes CLK 230K is locked on our drive minus the battery ready for winter coverup but I cannot open the boot. The metal key insert in our spare key opens the drivers door and fits into the boot lock but does not turn, Can anybody tell me how to get the boot open please !

This is quite a common problem and has been covered before a number of times.

What you need to do is to put a temporary 12v feed to the car by finding the +ve charge point under the bonnet and obviously an earth point for the negative. Then you can use the internal boot release or remote to open the boot in the normal way.

tHANKS i HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE EARTH BUT AM UNSURE WHERE YOU FIND A +IVE CHARGE POINT

It will be just behind the washer reservoir towards windscreen in front of the ecu housing (black plastic box) attach jumper from battery to +,then - to body earth.
