Help exhaust temp sensor recurring fault

Hi can anyone help,I had the engine light come on, and borrowed a snap-on solus machine to read code, po2031 I think, it stated exhaust temperature sensor on bank 1 failed, I bought new one from mercedes fitted it ok, but engine light keeps coming on after about 30 miles,same fault I have cleared code on car three times, running out of favors with my mate, anyone any ideas what to try next, or know a fix.

Well I am no expert but this sort of fault has been dealt with before,what you need to do is get to a indy with a Star,because the fact you have changed the sensor and it has come back could mean the soot in the system needs burning off,something the Star can do,you see you have bought a sensor cost about £50 and no joy,get it on a Star and then you will get it fixed.

Did you clear the fault after fitting the sensor.

Get it rechecked on a Star
