When i got in my car yesterday after work the fan was running until i turned the engine on. I had to remove the fuse from the fan or my battery will die, i took it into mylocal garage this morning thinking it may be the thermostat but he said no. Its just come back and he said he aint got a clue and suggested i take it into mercedes OUCH. Its a c200 elegance on a 1998 ( s plate ). Has anyone got any ideas what this is, as im the clueless guy when it comes to mechanics and dont want to get stung with some waffle of a garage.

I just tried pressing the ec button and the rest button on the dash while the engine was off but no luck when i re-started and turned back off

This means a problem has come up with the engine system and for safety the engine fans runs at full wack.
You need to get it on a Star diag machine to see whats up.
