help

You realy want some one that re builds the power steering racks. My involment with these racks was head banging. My first encounter was with a Austin 3 Litre 1970. From what i remember i replaced all bearings and seals to fix mine .The price then was £40 ,the chap at the counter told me then ,you wont stop it leaking .He was right ,even fitted a second hand one and still the same. You could try a sealer for transmision and power steering first. But take it from me ,the rebuild is needed. As you have the main work done the unit is sitting on the floor. Have it rebuilt ,i would.

Possibly the pinion valve is worn.
If the valve is ok and there are no more seals, the system pressure is too high.
