I recently bought a E320 Coupe, in good honest condition, which I was planning to 'uplift' via a bodywork refresh; it needs work on 3 arches, both front inner arches are holed, trailing roof edge and it will need an OSF wing (used pattern wing in a near colour match supplied). Mechanically it appears solid and drives really well.

MOT advisories relate to NSF Spring cup mount, front inner wing rust, ball joint play, and rusty rear coil springs

But the week after I got it home, I bought a 560SEC, so the 124 must go.

163k miles
10 owners (incl me)
12m MOT
4spd auto
Blue black (199)
Sportline spec (653)
Excellent grey interior
Original handbooks and manual
Stamped service history book to 118k miles
Engine loom has been replaced according to the last owner (no invoices but no obvious signs of deterioration either)
Air con faulty (will get it re-gassed as a starter)

Some guidance would be appreciated.

Shirish

A good place to start is to try and remember back a few weeks back to how much you paid for it , and you should have an idea what you think it's worth now

Difficult to price. Over 163K is "loom" territory unless it has been done. + 163 makes it leggy on miles.

I'm sure you have been on ebayhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-230CE-COUPE-1990-H-/321725554590?hash=item4ae8565f9e:g:UgMAAOSwcwhVLWy5

^That is not going anyway near 2k.

Honestly yours, perhaps on here, 1500 to 2k as it is. Sorry if you paid more, thats how it see it.

Whoops, just noticed the loom has been done. No receipt does not help your cause though, I still price it the same.

Thanks for the feedback John - agree it's difficult to gauge price. My plan was to spend a couple of grand on it to get it right but prices for "excellent" examples varies so much. Will continue to scan eBay, c and c and Autotrader.

Bung it on eBay , it will only sell for what people are prepared to pay for it.

With "difficult to value" vehicles then eBay is the best way to get maximum coverage when selling unless it is in concourse and uber desirable in which case specialized publications and media outlets would be the best bet.

I sold a bike recently (GPz1000) through eBay and towards the end of the auction there were around 50 people watching, and 20 bidding. It eventually sold to a chap from London which was an 900 mile round trip for his courier to pick the bike up.

I think £1500 is a price that should be pleasing for all involved, yourself and the new owner....

where did you see it advertised?

Thanks - it was on eBay.

I'll get it listed this weekend as a classified ad.
