C320 cdi 2005
Hi guys , I have a c320 cdi 2005. Obviously bought with no faults until after the test drive. The thing keeps going into low power mode as if there is no turbo. Ive replaced the turbo actuator and lambda sensor due to OBD diag codes. I've replaced the crankcase breather and turbo manifold intake seals. I've cleaned the MAF sensors. I've bought a ANCEL EU510 code reader and now nothing is showing apart from a glow plug module fault. Unfortunately it's still going into low power mode and I'm losing my patience with it. The turbo actuator lever to the turbo feels nice and free. I've had horrible horrible experiences with garages in the past so really really don't want to go down that route. But now I just don't know what to do with it. Everything is packing up this week, motorbike, microwave, dishwasher and even the bloody tent leaked so had to end the kids holiday early. I love it when it's working, fantastic engine. Any help appreciated. Cheers Chris.

Welcome Cris

A Star diagnostic at a good MB independent is the only way forward without you throwing more parts at it.

Codes can be helpful but are often just pointers towards some other issue and it is the experience in understanding these that is worth paying for,

You are very close to ahighly respected MB specia;ist : HOME

Sometimes gearbox faults can cause the engine to go into limp home mode-- not all code readers can log these non-engine codes--- if its gearbox related most likely problem is the electronic conductor plate in the gearbox or its electrical connector to the gearbox ECU which talks to the engine ECU.

from experience gearbox faults dont flag up eml but will certainly impede the cars performance

You say you replaced the turbo actuator. It was my understanding that these are matched to the turbo and therefore the original would need to be reconditioned rather than replaced with a different one.
