I have a few products for sale on eBay and I need to produce a simple graphic that will be the first "photograph/image" that appears in the search listings.

It doesn't need to be complicated, in fact it can be quite simple, straight forward, some may say gaudy - but they work and I need to produce one.

Something simple like the one used on this listing:-

DIAMOND TILE TILING HOLE SAW DRILL CUTTER HOLESAW BIT | eBay

How do I do that?

I'm not a photoshop type person.

I have got to grips with the basics of Google sketchup (for other things) but it doesn't seem much cop for this.

I also downloaded a piece of free software called GIMP (of all things) but it looks terribly complicated.

I need an idiot proof guide to "drag and drop" gaudy graphics production.

Anyone help?

Personally I would create something in powerpoint, using whatever fonts, messaging and imagery you need, then press screen print, then edit and crop the resultant jpeg / bmp until it is square, then upload that as your item picture.

Job done ?

Powerpoint might just be the job then, I'll ask our 14 year old, she'll have a much better idea how to do that.

I don't think I've ever even opened powerpoint.

My that was simple.

I can add "learnt how to operate Powerpoint" to the "What did you do for the first time today" thread.

Here's a quick sample of what I managed.
