really need some help please, im losing the will to live, cant find where the crankshaft position sensor is located:dk::dk:

The sensor is located on the passenger side of the engine at the back near where the gearbox joins the engine.

Remove the air filter hosing and pipes and you should be able to see/get to it.

found it, managed to get the cover off but cant get the tool on cps because of wires and pipes:fail

It is a tight and fiddly job. You'll need a 1/4 drive set with some long extensions, thin hands and a large portion of patience.

Good luck!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get it out! Mine welded itself in so the 'box had to be dropped I tap it out from the inside!!

still trying, even got the wife with her skinny hands to have a go but still cant manage, anybody in the Whitehaven area of Cumbria that can do this, money waiting.

well neil spent all of today trying to get the tool on and have given up, put it all back together in the hope someone will help.

I opted for the hours labour most garages charge!! Let them get the grazed knuckles! Although mine turned into two hours due to it being stuck fast!

yeh I agree, its my last option but needs must, just spent 50 quid on tools too but nevermind and it will cost me another 50 to get the wifes nails done. cheers mate.

I've got a lot more than nails to fork out for with my Mrs considering the cost for a replacement charge cooler!!!! C32's are a labour of love! Mines a love hate relationship! I love it and it hates me!

sounds about right mate, only had mine 3 week but still love it and its well worth spending money on

does a faulty cps reduce the power output

Don't think so! The car will die randomly and not start with a dodgy cps! The current hot weather will reduce the power quite a bit though!

does a faulty cps reduce the power output

Shouldn't do. Just makes for starting a hot engine difficult if not impossible until it cools down.
FWIW, my indy charged £46 labour to change my CPS earlier this month. Money well spent considering the awkwardness of the job.

thanx for that. sorry to be a pain but I assume that it has 2 camshaft sensors rather than the 1

wish I could find someone to do the job, my local garage said they couldn't do it and even the merc garage at Carlisle turned me away, that's why I had ago myself

What are the actual symptoms of the car as you said can a cps cause the car to be down on power.

Really couldn't tell you how many cam sensors mine has. Being a V8, possibly 2:dk:

Shame you can't get someone to fit your CPS for you. Ring around local mobile mechanics and see if someone can do it? No fix no fee:D
