Help needed with CLK W208 320 Steering Lock

Basically bort this CLK without keys purchased all items from donor vehicle car starts up. Problem i have is i can't take the previous steering lock off? If i connect the old steering lock then the car doesn't fire up any ideas how i can release the pin inside the lock?

If you look at it there's a round plate that sits and hides the gears at the end of a motor. Drill the plate and remove the plate, you can then leaver out the plastic gear and the pin that goes into the steering column, when that's removed you can remove the locking pin that holds it to the vehicle,

To me it would be easier to buy a key. And have all control modules matching the vis number,
