Please can anyone help me I need to take the door trim off my CLK W209 and cannot workn out how to deal with the handle that opens the door on the inside of panel.

Can get rest of panel free but seems to be held by opening handle and cannot see how to free off or remove it !!!

All help appreciated

Bump.

Just in case our member still needs our help.

The handle will be part of the door card won't it? You'll need to get your hand behind the door card and disengage the handle from the mechanism. At least this is what I've done in the past with other cars I've owned. I've never had to do this to a MB though, so someone who's more informed can advise better I'm sure.

Best of luck. :)

Don't think card will come away enough from door to get hand behind !!!!

Or am I just missing somthing !!!!

I fear you may be missing something matey. Most door cards I've removed can be moved far enough to disengage the handle. Does it firstly slide upwards maybe?

just take the door card off and you will find a cable attached to the pull handle just unclip this

Have undone the screw in armrest removed tweeter housing and two surrounds by door shut !!!

Feels as if there is another screw behind the door handle or behind the electric seat switch its very tight have I missed a screw somwhere !!!

the one behind the srs badge just pull the plastic blanking plug away and behind there is a screw

Dont have an SRS badge on panel car is 2006 clk 350 is there a scre behind seat electric switches or door opener thats where it feels tight

do you have sideair bags ? if so there is a plastic cover in the air bag section and there are only two screws holding the door card in place one behind door pull and the other behind SRS blanking plate, remove them and prise the card off gently with
a trim remover

No SRS badge on door card one bolt below handle to close door cant work out how to remove cover by opener as think my be a bolt there somwhere !!!

Is there not a screw behind the door handle lever. (the bit you pull to open) there's usually a plastic plug concealing a screw.

You also could benefit from using a panel lever. Like a long screwdriver with a 'c' end that levers off the clips. Plenty on ebay cheap.

Cant see anything at door handle but the panel does feel like there is a screw there!!! cant see how to remove cover !!

Have no probs removing door panel when free !!

Im not sure with the clk (i dont have one) but perhaps does the outer plastic that covers the handle slide to one side or t'other. I know that sounds strange but its that way for many cars. Or a screw?
Have a look for faint joint lines.

The handle all seems like one unit cannot see how to gt it offif you can!!!

The handle stays where it is.

IF all the screws are undone then lift the door panel upwards out of the top seal rail. There is a clip that will come out of its holder when the panel is lifted upwards. They can stick in that seal rail. Just be firm with it.

Then unclip the inner door handle cable from its holder when the panel is loose and out of the rail completely.

The panel feels tight as though there is a screw behind electric seat buttons !!! have found screw in handle and removed tweeter cover and both bits by latch anyone know if there is more screws !!!! dont want to break it !!!!
