Help needed urgently please

Just had a windscreen replaced on my 2000 ML 270 cdi auto, and the electric wing mirrors are now not working. The fitter said it has nothing to do with the new windscreen replacement. Can anybody please tell me how to resolve this, couldnt find anything in the manual except it states can fold them out manually. What are they connected to?

Thanks in advance

Worst thing in life is when one thing is fixed and some how this stops somthing else from working.

I know I maybe stating the obvious but first thing to check is the fuses, coz if we know these are intact this will let us know that power is probably getting to the mirrors

I very much doubt it is related to the windscreen replacement. As above check fuses firstly

Hi. Many thanks for quick reply, they were working before he fitted the screen, as i had to adjust them and move it forward on my drive, so that he could work on it. I have a narrow drive and have to adjust them every time i drive forward and or reverse down it. I am a woman and not very mechanically minded, is it fuse 29 for the mirrors and how will i tell if its blown? also when i press the button to operate them, there is now no sound there at all, as if there is no connection.

Hi

I am not sure which fuse it is. What you describe would suggest that it is the fuse that has blown. Fuse locations are usually kept on a sheet in the dashboard fusebox located at the drivers end of the dash.

Make sure that you have identified the correct fuse. Pull it out and hold it up to the light. You will usually see that the fuse metal has parted in the middle. Failing that pull it out and stick another one in anyway.

Good Luck

Thanks to all who replied

Hi, many thanks for all the advice given, i worked out which fuse to check and just changed it, and bingo the power was there. Just had to press the mirror button and wait for the Click; all ok now. Thanks again to all on here, dont know what i would do without this site, it is brill.
