on this radio but I wouldn't let me enter higher then number 4 what should I do please

I believe you hold down the 1 button and the display should scroll through 1-2-3-4-5 etc release the button on the digit you require and check it comes up in the display.
this is if its a Becker

I think later units are tied to the vehicle CANBUS system and may require to be coded to the vehicle by the Mercedes Star diagnostic system.
