Hello there.
It's almost ticking over but not quite there.
Also when I release the air flow meter it dies as the throttle linkage is still locked up when trying to start.
Thanks again.
Glyn.

SOME MORE VIDEOS-Notice the emphasis placed on the [ internal] idle contacts at the start of the potentiometer travel these are evidently a source of many problems

Turn the mixture 1/4 turn to the right and see what happens

Good morning guys.
Thanks for your reply.
Do you know if there's anyway to check if it's Potentiometer before I try removing it.
I've looked at several of Victor's videos on YouTube & it looks like a reasonably complicated issue to undertake.
Thanks again for your help.
Glyn.

Hi Grober.
I've tried pulling on the throttle mechanism whilst my son turns the engine over, but as soon as the ignition is turned too the starting position the mechanism/ linkage just locks up & I can't operate it manually from under the bonnet.
It works fine (the linkage) when no ignition is on.
Is that what you mean pal???
Thanks again.

That suggests to me you have an electronic throttle problem. have you tried to contact Black C55?

Hello there again.
Do you think Black C55 would be ok if I contact him pal.
CheeRS.

BlackC55 is a professional MB specialist and at a distance can only give you general pointers/advice as to what to look for. However he has experience of these cars so knows what to expect. You can but ask - refer to this thread when you send him a PM.

Hi,

I would stop where you are and take it somewhere that knows these systems. They are very very reliable on the whole. I have done minimal work to the 119 with that injection system because they rarely fail. I have used a company called Ken Mills Injection in London to overhaul the complete system. Some parts are not available to buy new but KMI have lots of good second hand bits to hand. They are not cheap but its worth it.

Hello there again.
Thanks for getting back to me pal.
The only problem is I can't get the car out of the garage at the moment as I can't get her to run.
The actuator/throttle linkage locks up whenever I try to fire her up.
I've ordered a OBD1 reader from America & just waiting for it to arrive.
Do you know if that'll give me any help with the problems as I know the system/reader is very limited.
I'm getting clean fuel coming through the injectors now but don't know if the potentiometer is faulty & don't fancy pulling it apart unless it's definitely that.
Thanks again bud & all the best.
Glyn.

With KMI you can remove all the injection system including the injectors and send them the lot. But if you need to send them the whole car can you not push it out of the garage? The OBD system on your car is very limited but can be helpful in some cases.

FYI I paid £2k the last time they overhauled a system for me.

Hello there.
Thanks for your reply.
Looks like I might have to do it that way.
The other problem with sending the car is that I'm in Rochdale so God only knows how much it would cost to get it down to KMI.
Looks like I may have to look at stripping down & going through the system piece by piece.
I'm getting fuel through the injectors when I push down on the air sensor.
Thanks again, really appreciated pal.
All the best.
Glyn.

Hello there.
Sorry for not updating on the car but not a lots changed.
Not got the bugger going yet as just not had the time. I've been out on a few occasions and had a play but still no joy.
Thinking I may have to admit defeat & send it to Dronsfields near me to have a go.
I will update once the old girls running again. 🤞🤞🤞
Hope you all have a brilliant Xmas & a much better 2021. 🎅🤶🎅
Thanks again for all the help.

Hello there again.
Sorry for the delay, but only just managed pluck up the courage to get under the 2 1/4 tonne behemoth.
At last. Finally got the old girl running again.
Cleaned injectors, changed the fuel filter again, cleaned the fuel distributor the best I could & replaced the fuel pump and bingo. She fired up. YIPPEE!!!
Not running the best just yet but at least she's running.
I just need to find a good mechanic near me to give her a tune up.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me out. Really do appreciated it.
All the best.
Glyn.
