The insurance have written the car off as "uneconomical to repair" We have a agreed a value which is over book price ans was agreed in a very good spirit with a very helpful and knowledgeable lady, also also demonstrated great empathy for our plight (full marks there to the insurer GKN via Adrian Flux).
As stated earlier in here they did offer me the car back at a very reasonable price. But I have declined for all the reasons I gave earlier.
My friend is selling his E30 5 Series Petrol auto Estate. This is a mint example that has been loved and cared for and wanted for nothing. I spent several years telling him I would buy it, should he ever wish to sell. Well, things happen for a reason. he just bought a brand new Audi and called me (not knowing about our accident) to say he was selling and I had first refusal. I will view tomorrow but will most likely buy it.
FYI: I mailed the chap on ebay with C-Class "320 Supercharged" he came straight back with no engine pics and said the car was "going into Mercedes to have the superchargers existence confirmed" I walked away when the promised photo's of the engine did not materialise.
