Hi, I was on the motorway this morning, stopped in a traffic jam, dropped my side window for some air.
20 minutes later road clears.
Side window stuck down.
Messed about jiggling the switch (which worked when the passenger side switch went).
Nothing.
I'm at hospital with my mum in Newcastle, I'm based in Leeds!
I've taped a bin bag over the door hole.
I'm using a taxi now.
No idea when I'll get out of the hospital,
Any one know where the fuse is located? I have no tools, and facing a 130 mile journey tomorrow in the cold
Thanks in anticipation.

Hopefully this will help. Good luck.

Best wishes for your mum

Maybe call out Mobilo if you have it or AA/RAC etc.

Would I be correct in thinking the 'Door Control Module' fuse would cover the electric window?
Fuse28 25amp

Check to see if any incandescent lights go dim when you operate the switch. If they do, it’s stuck rather than a wiring/module failure.
Also pressing the window button vigorously may help.

Tried everything without tools!
Blasted the switch with contact cleaner. When I operate the switch, I can hear a very quiet noise like a quartz clock tick, so I don't think it's the switch or a fuse.
I'm thinking Door Conttol Module?
Do these need coding in?

When I lived in this area of Newcastle in the 60s
They would steal your dustbin lid.
Times seem to have changed, I'm in my Mums flat, built in a brewery building, next to my first school.
It's actually quite a nice place to be now.
However, I'm in the lap of the God's tonight, let's hope I still possess a leather interior, tomorrow morning!
At least no one will want to steal the standard music system.

It does sound like the door control module is playing up, they're known for water ingress, but you can't clean them up without a few tools.
I'd try synchronizing the windows to see if that works first.
Firstly disconnect the battery negative cable and leave it for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Then reconnect the cable and get in the car and close the door. Start the car.
Close the windows and hold the up switch for a couple of seconds longer, you should then hear a click, and release.
If this doesn't work, see if you can gently prise the door card off and see if any wires are loose.

In any case, I'm guessing you're going to need a new module if eventually cleaning it up, and they ain't cheap ☹️

Have you tried using the global close function ie holding the lock button on the key fob down for a few seconds. Opening and closing the roof fully could work, but given how far you are from home could be risky. Either way the signal would have to go via the DCM and if it is faulty it will not help you.

Try : With A/C climate on (pretty much any setting) press and hold the 'recirculate' button , this, on my (2006) C class will close all of the dropped windows and the sunroof if open. Its part of the function that (obviously) closes the air to cabin intake 'flap' when the driver wants to keep smoke/smell out of the cabin. Not much use if all the windows are open , so the car closes them for you.

Hopefully your car has this function , at least it will help you faultfind.
