Hi guys,

Bit of a strange one!

please see:

OK, item number 38 the screw. i cant seem to remove it! What tool do i use? ive tried an allan key to no avail.

Also what happened was one of the fuel lines going from the fuel distributor to the injector was so bent that when i tried to tighten it, it literally snapped off!

Is it a good idea to replace all four fuel lines?

Many thanks as always for any help!

Is it countersunk or does it stand proud ?

If it is proud , as a last resort, could you lock a pair of mini molegrips onto it and turn it that way ?

It's probably a splined screw. If you really can't get a bit to fit just hammer another bit in that is a tight fit, even a flat screwdriver will do. The shock of hammering should loosen the thread.

use dynamite.

Sorry i couldnt be of much help but if it was me i'd be shopping for aload of broken bits befor even asking anyone!

Good luck!

If the screw is a star sort of shape it does come out, u can buy the star bit at a motor or DIY shop you mite have to buy it to fit a ratchet tho it is a bit tight.
as for the fuel line get one down the breakers save you a few quid.

would it be worth changing all four fuel lines...??? or is there no point in doing that!??

Many thanks!!!

Impact Screwdriver!

The right bit if possible? or anything that fits tightly as dieselman said, connected to an IMPACT SCREWDRIVER+ 5lb hammer! the tool beloved of motorcycle mechanics everywhere.

Where abouts are you?
I have a complete set of torx, splines, security tork and other weird shaped bits.

im in north london! thing is i cant even take the car to the garage because one of the fuel lines is snapped off! so i desperately need to remove these troublesome screws! any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would be willing to send you the small set I have (has loads of bits in) by post for you to borrow.
Either that, or I have a London delivery tomorrow at 8am (Mandela way off the Old Kent Road) if you could get there.
You could buy it if you wanted to as I have 2 of these sets. There are 100 bits in there and was £20. One set is new.

Hi Grav, thankyou for the most generous offer...as you know i cant get there because my car is not working right now! but if you could post them to us, hopefully one will work then i shall post them back to you either way!
many thanks!!!

OK. No prob. PM me your details:D
You will need a ratchet and a small socket to go on the end of the bits or the bit adaptor though. (A small spanner sometimes works just as well)

is saving a few quid worth risking your life for?
when replacing fuel lines always use new pipe or hose.
thats what i do anyway.
:)

your right there, hence why i have ordered 4 new fuel lines from the stealer...

Sorry, missed postman yesterday, but they are with them now.
You should get the set tomorrow.:D
