Today while changing the coolant pump on the 260E I noticed, what I can only think of is the outside temprature sensor. It was just hanging there, under the car and behind the valance. It is clipped to a loom. I dont see where it is supposed to fit (nothing nearby that looks like it needs a bolt / screw) and would be greatfull if someone could point me in the general direction.

If it's a little pointy sensor then it plugs into a hole in the front bumper next to the N/S front foglight.

Otherwise it lives on a bracket behind the number plate.

Many thanks for your reply, just checked and now it has a home :) :)

So does it reside in the bumper or behind the number plate? Curious minds want to know :p

Good to hear you got it sorted :)

Steve, it sits behind the valance, found a little clip that was previously hidden under mud (oh the shame of it, muddy car)

mine is behind the number plate, found it when putting on new plates
